Wona Bae and Charlie Lawler: Primary Succession Exhibition

77
Crystals growing up close.

After rupture comes regeneration.

In Primary Succession, pass through the window to ecologies grown from the remnants of climate altered worlds. A future in where landscapes thrive through crisis.  Internationally acclaimed artists Wona Bae (South Korea) and Charlie Lawler (Australia) invite audiences into a speculative new world where eco intelligence and ecological memory guide survival.

Through extensive research, and following a consultation with local Indigenous leaders from Bunurong Land Council Aboriginal Corporation and experts from the Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria (Cranbourne), this sculptural and immersive installation considers how life adapts, reorganises and continues. Quietly, collectively and beyond human control.
