Cultural Sketch returns for a special edition celebrating the opening of Quiet Proof, a new foyer exhibition at Drum Theatre featuring photographic works by Alberto Burgos.
Blending artist talks, storytelling and live sketching, Cultural Sketch invites audiences to creatively respond throughout the evening, sketching the presenter, favourite objects, moments, sounds, or the stories being shared.
This special edition will feature Alberto Burgos in conversation about his practice and the ideas behind Quiet Proof.
Quiet Proof gathers street photographs that linger on the edge of perception. Fleeting gestures, half-glimpsed scenes and quiet anomalies emerge within everyday life, inviting audiences to slow down and notice the nearly invisible.
Rather than documenting grand events, Burgos focuses on subtle moments that are often overlooked — a passing glance, a shift in light, a shadow hinting at a story. His work explores the space between noticing and missing something entirely, revealing the quiet poetry hidden in ordinary encounters.
Through conversation and drawing, this Cultural Sketch offers audiences a chance to engage deeply with the exhibition, reflect on the ways we observe the world around us, and respond creatively in real time.
No experience is needed—just bring your enthusiasm and let the inspiration flow.
This is a free event; however, registration is required.
Refreshments and alcohol will be served at this session (this event is for people aged 18+).
Materials will be provided.
We Welcome Tolerance, Inclusion, and Respect: Racist, discriminatory, or any other harmful behaviour will not be tolerated at our events.
