Construction has reached a major milestone at the new Oasis Aquatics and Wellbeing, with 11 large timber beams now installed, forming part of the centre’s main structure.
Greater Dandenong Mayor, Cr Sophie Tan, said the installation of the 35 metre beams, that extend across the main pool hall, was an exciting sign of progress.
“What was once a construction site is now starting to look like a real building, giving the community a glimpse of what they can look forward to,” Cr Tan said.
“These beams provide a sense of the scale of the centre and will be an important sustainability and architectural feature.”
When complete the centre will provide modern aquatic, health, fitness and community facilities and promote health and connection across all ages and abilities.
