As a physical education teacher, I am very passionate about the important role sport and recreation play in bringing people together.

That’s why I am strongly advocating for Lyndale United Football Club to receive the facilities it urgently needs. With more than 250 junior and senior players and one of the highest female participation rates in the municipality, Lyndale United is a vital community club. The club desperately needs two quality pitches, proper drainage, lighting and a safe car park. These are essential facilities for a club serving hundreds of local families. The site is on Department of Education land, and securing a clear State Government funding commitment has been difficult. I will continue to push hard for the State Government to step up and deliver this much-needed investment. With the upcoming State Election, now is the time to make Lyndale United’s needs heard. As we welcome the warmer weather, it's a great time to enjoy our local parks and community spaces with family and friends.

Soon there will be a freshly updated playground to enjoy at Bakers Reserve in Dandenong North. Following our consultation in March, we’ll share a final design and next steps with the community shortly. Keep an eye on Have Your Say to stay up-to-date on that one.

We are also continuing to invest in local road infrastructure, with a number of streets scheduled for upgrades in the Noble Park North ward. Works are planned for Oakwood Avenue, Lower Terrace Crescent and Wotama Court, while further kerb and channel renewal works are scheduled for Nemet Court, Heath Court, Cannon Court and sections of Frognal Drive. These improvements will help maintain safe and accessible roads for our community. If you’re keen to contribute to the wellbeing of our community while creating space at home, why not donate your pre-loved sporting equipment at the Play It Forward: Donate, Collect, Learn event at Ross Reserve on Sunday 22 November.

You can also enjoy a sausage sizzle, take home second-hand sports equipment and learn about services that support people who may face challenges getting involved in sport. Everyone is welcome and you don’t need to register. Visit our events page of the website for more information.
